one day motorcycle tour
If you love two wheels and incredible views, this is the perfect day out for you. In fact, we’re probably selling ourselves short by calling this one-day motorcycle tour the Three Peaks. You’ll take in Slieve Donard, the highest mountain in Ulster, Slieve Gullion and Slieve Foy, but you’ll also ride or pass an array of other peaks in the Mourne Mountains, Cooley Mountains and Dromara Hills.
Throw into the mix ancient kingdoms, a scenic sea lough, a medieval village, a ferry crossing and a trip to the seaside and you’ve got the makings of a spectacular day trip. From traversing the region’s highest peaks to admiring them (literally at sea level) from the deck of a boat, you’ll experience every possible definition of a mountain view in a single day.
These beautiful surrounds are incredible places to spend time in any circumstances. The freedom and excitement that comes from renting a motorcycle to explore them only adds to the adventure.

From our base in Moira, you’ll ride out south to Slieve Gullion, which offers views as far as Wicklow on a clear day. You’ll then tour through the Cooley Mountains to the historic village of Carlingford, which sits at the foot of Slieve Foye.
Roll on to the ferry at the quaint Victorian railway and port village of Greenore to cross Carlingford Lough. Enjoy views of the surrounding mountains, the Irish Sea and, occasionally, the dolphins that visit the lough. A 20-minute crossing brings you to the ancient kingdom of Mourne. You’ll ride the coast road to the fishing port of Kilkeel, before cutting inland to the heart of the Mourne Mountains. Expect epic scenery as you explore the high mountain passes, eventually dropping down to the seaside resort of Newcastle.
It would be rude not to enjoy an ice cream (or a poke as we say here) before heading north to the Dromara Hills and a final mountain ride of the day at Slieve Croob on the return home.
