DAY ONE
You’ll spend your first day in the mountains, riding out to Slieve Gullion and onto Carlingford, a medieval town at the foot of the Cooley Mountains. Take in spectacular views on the 20-minute ferry crossing to the ancient Kingdom of Mourne, exploring the Mourne Mountains before dropping down to the seaside resort of Newcastle for a well-deserved ice-cream. Enjoy the final mountain ride of the day, Slieve Croob, on the way home to Ralph’s luxury guest house in Moira.
DAY TWO
Day 2 starts with a ride to the 12th century Carrickfergus Castle, then weaving up the Antrim Coast Road between the magnificent Glens of Antrim and the waters of the North Channel, with stunning views over Scotland. You’ll see the idyllic harbours of Carnlough and Ballintoy, the rugged coastline of Murlough Bay, the towering headland of Torr Head, the atmospheric tunnel of trees at the Dark Hedges and the cliff-clinging Dunluce Castle — all locations for Game of Thrones — before heading to the the luxury Roe Park Resort, Limavady, via the expansive Downhill Beach.
DAY THREE
You’ll spend Day 3 exploring the Inishowen Peninsula in Donegal. Riding along the Lough Swilly shore, you’ll arrive at Fort Dunree, a spectacular coastal defence fortification dating to the Napoleonic Wars, before heading inland to the Gap of Mamore, a narrow pass in the Urris Hills that offers breathtaking, panoramic views over the Atlantic Ocean. It’s then on to the rugged cliffs of Malin Head, the most northerly point of mainland Ireland, and along the coast to catch the Scenic Lough Foyle Ferry and head back to Roe Park.
DAY FOUR
On Day 4 you’ll adventure along Donegal’s stunning coastline on the Wild Atlantic Way. You’ll explore Portsalon — once named the second most beautiful beach in the world, the picturesque Fanad Head Lighthouse and the dramatic Downies Atlantic Drive tour of the Rosguill Peninsula. Enjoy a trip to the 15th century Doe Castle in its glorious setting on Sheephaven Bay, before heading to your hotel in Letterkenny.
DAY FIVE
Day 5 brings a scenic tour of Glenveagh National Park and its beautiful 19th century castle. You’ll continue your motorcycle ride of the Wild Atlantic Way to Bloody Foreland, where the sunset brings out the red hue of the granite cliffs, and Bunbeg Harbour, where a narrow road leads to an incredibly beautiful quay on an inlet on the Atlantic Ocean. It’s then on to the seaside village of Kincasslagh and the idyllic fishing harbour of Burtonport, before heading back to Letterkenny via the Glendowan Mountains.
DAY SIX
On the final day of your motorcycle tour of the north of Ireland you’ll ride south through the breathtaking high mountain scenery of the Glenesh Pass to the spectacular sea cliffs of Slieve League.
